I've tried Ubongo with several levels and ages of gamers. Every player has a set of puzzle pieces and at the word GO, tries to fit a set of pieces into one of many puzzle frames. It's like head-to-head Tetris! It's great to see younger kids able to use the easier 3-piece puzzles to keep up with mom and dad on the 4-piece puzzles. When heavy-duty gamers are all at the table, they've analyzed the available gem patterns and have a definite plan for collecting the most gems as fast as possible. Ubongo is also a fast game - each session is 9 flips of a sand timer, so the comment I hear the most often is "Wow, let's play that again!" Definitely a must have for party gaming. I can't wait to try Ubongo: Extreme's 5-piece puzzles. |
